PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an inverter controller and an air conditioner using this inverter controller without deteriorating a control performance even by incorporating a current waveform superposed with a switching frequency component of an inverter or a distorted current waveform in a current flowing to a load. SOLUTION: The inverter controller comprises a plurality of switching elements. The controller controls an inverter for converting a DC into an AC and supplies the AC to the load. The controller also comprises a drive stop means for turning off at least one switching element of the inverter for a predetermined time so that a current value flowing to at least one phase of the load becomes zero, an offset voltage detecting means for storage updating a voltage value outputting from a current detecting means during a period in which the current value flowing to the load becomes zero by the stop means, and an actual current calculating means for calculating the actual current value flowing to the load from a voltage value outputting from the current detecting means and a voltage value stored in the offset voltage detecting means.
