A cleaner apparatus is provided to suppress the curl of an end portion of a cleaner blade and the deterioration of the cleaner blade, thereby preventing the cleaning failure due to the curl and deterioration of the cleaner blade. A cleaner apparatus(50) comprises a cleaner blade(52), a housing member(51), and a shielding member(54). The cleaner blade(52) is contacted with a surface of an image carrier to scratch toner formed on the surface of the image carrier. The housing member(51) stores waste toner scratched by the cleaner blade(52). The shielding member(54) leaves the waste toner on an end portion of the cleaner blade(52) temporarily. The shielding member(54) is a sheet type elastic member having a length corresponding to the cleaner blade(52). A side of the shielding member(54) is fixed to the housing member(51). The shielding member has a longitudinal repulsive force against flexure at an end portion lower than at a center portion.
