PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for magnetic separation of magnetic particles, which effectively carries out cleaning by application of a magnetic field suitable for redispersion of beads in spite of adopting magnetic particles having high magnetic response. SOLUTION: In the method for collecting magnetic particles by applying a magnetic field from the outside to a suspension containing a magnetic particle for extracting a biological substance dispersed in a solution containing a biological substance, the method for magnetic separation of magnetic particle has the saturation magnetization of the magnetic particle in the range of 80-180 Am<SP>2</SP>/kg and the magnetic flux density of a magnetic field to be applied from the outside in the range of 0.2 T-0.4 T.
