An objective of the present invention is to provide a cylinder block which can optimize a cooling effect for a cylinder by changing a temperature of a coolant in accordance with a location. Two coolant passages of different systems are formed on the cylinder block (1). A coolant of a relatively low temperature flows in a first coolant passage, and a coolant of a relatively high temperature flows in a second coolant passage. The first coolant passage is positioned on an exhaust side with respect to a plurality of cylinders (2) installed side by side in a longitudinal direction of the cylinder block (1), and comprises an exhaust-side water jacket (30) formed along the cylinders (2) in the longitudinal direction. The second coolant passage is positioned on a suction side with respect to the cylinders (2), and comprises a suction-side water jacket (20) formed along the cylinders (2) in the longitudinal direction. |
