<p>Skimmed milk is progressed in a continuous stream through a vaporiser followed by atomisers, in a process for the mfr. of cream and skimmed milk powder. Before entering the vaporiser, the skimmed milk flows through a vessel in which the height of the fluid level serves as a control parameter for the delivery of milk to a continuously working, self-clearning centrifuge, which separates the cream from the skimmed milk. For pref. the feed to the centrifuge is adjusted by a valve regulated by the level in the buffer vessel. Method makes the prodn. process really continuous by eliminating the stopping of the working of the vaporiser and the spray towers, whilst dirt and sludge are ejected from the centrifuge. The process also makes it unnecessary to cool the skimmed milk before storage and to reheat it afterwards.</p> |
