PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a resin composition having improved flame retardancy and electric characteristics. SOLUTION: The flame-retardant resin composition having the improved electric characteristics is constituted of a base resin, a halogen-based flame retardant (such as a brominated polybenzyl (meth)acrylate and brominated polystyrene), and at least one kind of an oxyacid component selected from an organic phosphonous or phosphonic acid compound (such as an alkyl phosphonite or phosphonate, an alkylidenediphosphonic acid, a nitrilotrisalkylenephosphonic acid or a salt thereof), an organic sulfonic acid compound (such as an alkanesulfonic acid) and salts thereof. The resin composition may contain a flame retardant synergist, an olefinic resin and/or an electric characteristic-improving auxiliary besides them. The proportion of each component is 3-30 pts.wt. halogen-based flame retardant and 1-30 pts.wt. oxyacid component based on 100 pts.wt. base resin. COPYRIGHT: (C)2007,JPO&INPIT
