PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a controller of an internal combustion engine that can suitably start an engine during EV travel by preventing a turbo charger from being burnt.
SOLUTION: The controller of the internal combustion engine controls a hybrid vehicle which has a turbo charger. At a request to start the internal combustion engine, the controller of the internal combustion engine performs the start control of the internal combustion engine based upon whether a necessary output of the internal combustion engine is an output requesting supercharging pressure. Specifically, when the request output is a high output necessitating supercharging pressure, the engine speed of the internal combustion engine is increased and the supercharging pressure is made low while the output generated by the internal combustion engine is held at the request output. Consequently, a decrease in the output of the internal combustion engine caused by a deficiency in supercharging pressure can be prevented. Further, an abrupt rise in turbo engine speed in a state of deficient oil pressure can be suppressed and the burning of the turbo charger can be prevented.
COPYRIGHT: (C)2008,JPO&INPIT |
