<p>A loop-shaped portion including a linear portion and a curve portion is provided in the middle of a conveyance path (11c) installed in a paper sheet handling mechanism (10). A paper sheet (W1) is contained in the loop-shaped portion by being circulated and moved in it. When a paper sheet located in the conveyance path (11c) on the upstream side of the loop-shaped portion is sent to the loop-shaped portion, in order that the paper sheet is layered on a single paper sheet or a bundle of paper sheets circulating and moving in the loop-shaped portion, the paper sheet located on the upstream side of the loop-shaped portion and a paper sheet located in the loop-shaped portion are individually moved. The loop-shaped portion has priority conveyance sections (74a, 74b) in which, among the paper sheets in the bundle circulated and moved in the loop-shaped portion, those on the outer side of the loop-shaped portion are sent ahead of those on the inner side, and also has priority conveyance sections (76a, 76b) in which, among the paper sheets in the bundle circulated and moved in the loop-shaped portion, those on the inner side of the loop-shaped portion are sent ahead of those on the outer side.</p> |
