Deformation element with tubular elastic piece - has outer surface possessing different frictional values axially in succession, and slides in profiled surface

The deformation element consists of a plastically deformable tubular piece (1) one end of which rests and slides with its outer surface on a profiled surface (3). The transverse dimension of the deformation piece is thereby altered by the introduction of an inversion process. The outer surface has an axial succession of parts (5, 6, 7) with different frictional values produced by differences in smoothness. One part (7) has a frictional value preventing sliding. The non-inverted part of the deformation piece (1) is exposed to deformation as a result of the contact between this part (7) and the profiled surface (3). ADVANTAGE - A defined force path characteristic is achieved by the deformation of the deformation piece countering resistance which changes with increasing deformation.
