Optical indicator of state of readiness of automobile alarm - uses warning lamp associated with dashboard switch which serves additional purpose e.g. as flashing indicator of fog-lamp control

The indication is given by illumination of an LED or similar source combined with a switch in a central position on the dashboard which is not obscured by other appts. and is recognisable from a relatively long distance. The flashing alarm indicator switch or a fog-lamp switch may be used to give either continuous or intermittent illumination of the LED, to assure the driver and potential thieves that the alarm is set. ADVANTAGE - The readiness of the alarm system is indicated at min. cost by use of a switch already serving another purpose.
