PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image pickup device which is equipped with an electronic view finder using a reflection type liquid crystal display element suitable to a camera, and whose photographing range is easily grasped, and which is made small in size and which can be tightly held so as to suppress a shake. SOLUTION: The device is provided with a photographing optical system, an imaging device for receiving a luminous flux guided from the photographing optical system, an image display element, a controller for converting image information from the imaging device to a display signal, a light source for illuminating the image display element and an observation optical system, the focal distance of the observation optical system satisfies the condition of (1) 13 mm<f<21 mm. |
