A removable cover (22) comprising a flexible sheet (46) having four margins, which is laid between four walls (40, 42) of a rectangular clarifier, means for retaining and sealing a first margin to a first wall, including a first structural angle (54) having an upwardly aligned part which acts as a kick plate, and means for pulling and sealing the remaining margins to the remaining walls. Preferably a plurality of spaced trusses are laid between two opposing clarifier walls with the sheet being laid over the trusses and the pulling means comprise pullers (70) attached to a kick plate (72) located along each of the clarifier walls. In a further invention two margins of the sheet are secured to the trusses rather than to the clarifier walls. A still further invention discloses a cover segment for a circular clarifier (Figures 13 and 14). |
