PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enable to easily confirm whether appropriate detection algorithm is used for detecting a possible abnormal shadow which is desired by a physician or not. SOLUTION: In a medical image processing apparatus 10, an algorithm selection means 15 selects one or more algorithms selectively input by the physician through an input means 14 or one or more algorithms corresponding to the types of lesions input by the physician through the input means 14, and while the possible abnormal shadow is detected by applying the selected algorithm, a display controlling means 18 discriminably displays the applied algorithm and/or the types of the lesions which are the subject of detection in the above algorithm.
