The pawls of levers (8,9) pass over the engagement portions (37,38) because of the presence of slopes (12a,13a) of the pawls and snap into position under the lower faces of the engagement portions, while a click is given to the user to indicate the cartridge (1) is correctly moved into its specified position. Guide portions (35,36) constantly urge the levers outwards to ensure an engagement state is maintained. An independent claim is included for an ink-jet recording apparatus.
