PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a governor rope pull-up device capable of positioning a member for floating a governor rope in a suitable region irrespectively of the type and the size of a speed governor and capable of easily and surly performing the operation of floating the governor rope by a unconventional means. SOLUTION: The governor rope pull-up device 11 is adapted to raise the governor rope 5 by a jack 31. The governor rope pull-up device comprises a fixture 12, which grips and fixes an end of the endless governor rope 5 wound around a governor sheave and is raised together with the governor rope 5 by the jack 31, a horizontal guide member 16 engaging with the fixture 12 and slidably guiding the fixture 12 in a horizontal direction, and a bottom plate 20 for placement of the jack.
