<p>A mobile terminal having a multi-frequency band antenna is provided to operate in multiple frequency bands and enhance antenna characteristics by improving impedance matching of frequency bands used by a user. The first and second transmitting/receiving units(11,12) are switching-connected with a multi-frequency band antenna(19) and use each different frequency band. A frequency band selector(15) selectively connects the multi-frequency band antenna(19) and the first and second transmitting/receiving units(11,12). A common impedance matching unit(21) is connected between the multi-frequency band antenna(19) and the frequency band selector(15) and commonly matches impedance with respect to all the selective connection between the multi-frequency band antenna(19) and the first and second transmitting/receiving units(11,12). An impedance matching compensating units(23,25) are switching-connected with the common impedance matching unit(21) and compensates impedance matching of the common impedance matching unit(21). A controller(10) controls the frequency band selector(15) to connect the multi-frequency band antenna(19) to a transmitting/receiving unit corresponding to a frequency band of a received radio signal and controls switching connection of the impedance matching compensating units(23,25) to the common impedance matching unit(21).</p> |
