PURPOSE: To obtain excellent display quality in which color irregularity caused by the local film thickness fluctuation of a blue filter part hardly occurs by using a warm color light source compensating color development on a liquid crystal display element in which transmission spectrum for bright display has a maximal value in a short wavelength region. CONSTITUTION: As to the liquid crystal display element; the light transmission spectrum for the bright display has the maximal value in the short wavelength area, chromaticity coordinate (x2 , y2 ) in the case of using a light source is x2 <=0.25, y2 <0.28, and is inside the range of an expression and the light source is the warm color light source in which the chromaticity coordinate (x1 , y1 ) is 0.62<=x1 +x2 <=0.67, 0.63<=y1 +y2 <=0.71 and is inside the expression. That is, the liquid crystal display element in which the light transmission spectrum for the bright display has the maximal value in the short wavelength region and the chromaticity coordinate (x2 , y2 ) in the case of using the light source is inside the range shown by a hatched part (a) is combined with the light source whose chromaticity coordinate (x1 , y1 ) is inside the hatched part (b). Thus, transmissivity in the short wavelength can be compressed, so that the hue of the bright display can not be colored, and blue irregularity can be restrained in the case the film thickness fluctuation occurs at the blue filter part. |
