PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a light emitting device which has a high emission efficiency and allows the output light to be looked straight at by human eyes. SOLUTION: A diffusion reflection plate 3 is located in the emitting direction of a laser element 2 to let light emitted from the laser element 2 be reflected by the diffusion reflection plate 3 and then be output outside the light emitting device. Due to this structure, the light emitted from the laser element 2 is converted into indirect light by means of the diffusion reflection plate 3 to be output outside, allowing the light to be drawn as diffusion light relatively safe to human eyes.
