<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce the number of terminals of a device for operating the power saving control of a whole system in a data processor equipped with a sub-control means for performing control in a power saving status in which a power source to a main control means is turned off in the power saving status. <P>SOLUTION: A reset signal for resetting a main CPU 12 and a sub-CPU 14 is divided into two systems, and a reset 2 is released at first, and the access of a sub-CPU 14 is started. At that time, a reset 1 is not released, and a shared terminal 24 of a power saving control device 20 is put in an input status during reset, and an instruction to set a control terminal as Hiz in the case of start is inserted into the program of the sub-CPU 14 to set the control terminal as Hiz for stop. Also, the reset 2 is released, and the reset 1 is released after the lapse of time until the control terminal of the sub-CPU 14 is set as Hiz.
