A sensor comprises a flexible substrate, 10, which is permeable to moisture and at least one electrode, 15, which has a signalling surface, which faces in the same direction as a first surface of the flexible substrate, a signal transmission conductor, 14/19, which is connected electrically to the said electrode and is attached in a watertight manner to the second surface of the substrate, preferably by an intermediate layer, 12, which is also electrically insulating. Preferably the substrate is a textile and in use it is arranged around apart of the body such that the electrode is in contact with the skin. The sensor is reliable, economical to manufacture, and comfortable to the user. |
