PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a Mizuhiki fabric hardly causing deviation or loss of embossed woven patterns, and usable as a leather substitute for bags and pouches touched with the finger and the hand. SOLUTION: The production method of the Mizuhiki fabric includes weaving a Mizuhiki 1 as a weft and an ordinary fiber yarn 2 as a warp, wherein the Mizuhiki 1 includes a paper strand 1a formed by twisting paper and a winding yarn 1b helically wound along the paper strand 1a to form a helical groove G for fastening the fiber yarn 2 in the winding pitch.
