PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a highly durable castable refractory for molten metal container lid which has excellent heat retaining property, and which has excellent thermal shock resistance, falling shock resistance, mechanical strength, as well as excellent resistance against various different damage factors such as corrosion resistance, while having basic property required for lid material such as light in weight.SOLUTION: There is provided a castable refractory for molten metal container lid composed of fire resistance ingredient and steel fiber, in which bulk specific gravity after heating at 1000°C is 1.70 g/cmor less, thermal conductivity is 1.0 W/m*K or less, bending strength is 3.0 MPa or more and compression strength is 10.0 MPa or more.SELECTED DRAWING: None |
