PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an epoxy group-bearing organopolysilsesquioxane of high stability and high reactivity and its production process. SOLUTION: An organopolysilsesquioxane bearing whole side-chain mercapto groups in which the main chain terminuses are substituted with end-cap groups more than 75 mol.% and the whole side chains are organic groups having a mercapto group and the number-average molecular weight is 5×10<2> -1.5×10<4> is allowed to react with an epoxy group-bearing ethylenically unsaturated compound or with a combination thereof with an alkyl (meth)acrylate in the presence of a radical initiator to prepare the objective epoxy group-containing organopolysilsesquioxane.
