VALVE DRIVE DEVICE FOR INTAKE/EXHAUST VALVE OF INTERNAL COMBUSTION ENGINE

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To perform adjustment from one side end position to another end side position during engine operation with permissible valve play change in a valve drive device for at least one intake/exhaust valve of an internal combustion engine.

SOLUTION: An adjustable rocking lever 17 is joined to an eccentric wheel shaft 16 by a hinge as described below. A desired phase displacement and a setting maximum valve stroke of maximum phase adjustment angleαthat can be set as a structure parameter is formed by an eccentric wheel 15 having relatively large eccentricity e1 adjustable by an eccentric wheel angleβ. A support point 31 of a push rod 13 on the adjustable lever 17 follows and displaces on rocking radius R of the push rod having a center on an upper rotation point which is a hinge point of the rocker arm 12 and the push rod 13 during phase displacement under this peripheral condition. Interval between the rocker arm 12 and the roller of a cam 14 is kept same in the phase displacement adjustment range.
