<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming apparatus capable of preventing the density of an area of which the density is specified by a user from being sharply deviated from the density expected by the user when half-tone processing is applied to the area. <P>SOLUTION: A theoretical dot-number calculation part 124 generates a half-tone image HG3 of maximum density by performing half-tone processing of a noticed image element CE and calculates the number of theoretical dots of the noticed image element CE from the half-tone image HG3 of the maximum density. A real dot-number calculation part 125 generates a half-tone image of the noticed image element CE by using a screen pattern of density specified by density specification information in the noticed image element CE and calculates the number of real dots from the generated half-tone image. A density setting part 126 sets the density of the noticed image element CE so that the number of real dots calculated by the real dot-number calculation part 125 is included within an allowable range predetermined based on the theoretical dot number dots calculated by the theoretical dot-number calculation part 124. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2008,JPO&INPIT |
