PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method and device for detecting an amount of accumulation of a conveyor, capable of detecting an amount of accumulation even when there is a margin between containers to be transported without detecting an amount of accumulation in a state where containers such as bottles overflow, drive controlling a conveyor according to an amount of accumulation, and suppressing scratch to the containers such as bottles.SOLUTION: A method for detecting an amount of accumulation of a conveyor 11 in a conveyor line 10 for transporting containers P such as bottles with a transportation body such as a chain includes: providing a plurality of top plates so as to be arranged in the width direction, and detecting a strain amount of a rail 2 for supporting the top plates adjacent to each other by a strain gauge 3 stuck to the rail 2 so as to assume an amount of accumulation of the containers P on the conveyor 11. |
