A hose comprising an internal supporting tube (1) made of an elastic material and spirally winded around with a profiled band (2). The said band (2) has in its cross-section a profile which is made of two quadrangular flanges (3) and (4) conjugating in steps with each other and each a height equal to half height of the profile. The neighbouring loops of the band (2) are partially overlapping each other so that the upper flange (3) of one loop is placed on the lower flange (4) of the other, whereas the butt-ends of the flanges (3) and (4) are facing each other The reinforcing carcass constituted by the band (2) is covered with an interlayer (5) made of an elastic material. Over the said interlayer (5) is laid at least one pair of reinforcing layers (6) and (7) constituted by families of interparallel reinforcing cords (8) and (9) wound in opposite directions at angles over the range of 0 to 20` to the axis of the hose. Over the pair of reinforcing layers (8) and (9) is placed an external protecting envelope (10) made of an elastic material. A method of making a modification of the hose, where it has an interlayer (5) with a spiral thickening (15), provides for coating the internal supporting tube (1) with the profiled band (2) preliminarily bent into a spiral. The said band (2) is then fixed to the supporting tube (1) and the supporting tube (1) is extended along its axis. The reinforcing carcass, constituted by the band (2), is then covered with the interlayer (5) made of an elastic material, the latter being fixed to the band (2). Finally the reinforcing layers (6) and (7) are wound, the external protecting envelope (10) is laid and the tensile force is released from the supporting tube (1). |
