PURPOSE: A rubbing apparatus and a method for rubbing liquid crystal display are provided to form a uniform rubbing groove without generating the alignment error and the damage of a TFT due to static electricity. CONSTITUTION: A liquid crystal alignment layer(20) is formed on a substrate(10). A rubbing liquid including an etchant and a rinse solution is sprayed to perform a rubbing process. A spraying head(50) is moved to control a rubbing angle. A spraying nozzle(51) is moved to adjust a pretilt angle. The gap between the spraying nozzles is 0.5 to 10 mm. The inner diameter of the spraying nozzle is 0.05 to 5 mm. |
