A length of inflatable tube 10 has attached thereto two releasably interconnectable elements 11,12, each element being positioned along at least part of the lines indicating the boundaries of the areas which will be in contact when the tube is inflated and bent, and the elements when connected holding the inflated tube in the bent condition. The elements may comprise for example interengaging loops through which is passed a tension member such as a cord 15, interengaging teeth of a zip fastener or interfitting male and female components (29,26 Fig 6). A method of making a length of inflatable tube is also disclosed. The tube may be used as a buoyancy tube for an inflatable liferaft. |
