<p>A golf putting practice device 1 comprises lower circular plate 2 having an external diameter substantially that of a golf hole, and upper circular plate 3 having an external diameter substantially that of a golf hole. Sleeve 4 spaces the lower 2 and upper 3 plate members apart to define a golf ball receiving channel with planar facing surfaces, the distance between the plate members at their outer circumferences being substantially the diameter of a golf ball 11. Elongate member 5 extends through sleeve 4 and engages at a lower end 6 with lower plate 2, and extends through a central opening in upper plate 3. Handle 7 engages with an upper end of elongate member 5, and resilient means 9 acts on handle 7 and upper plate 3 to urge together the plates 2, 3 and the sleeve 4 such that a golf ball putted towards the device may become lodged between the plates. Handle 7 may be spherical, and resilient means 9 may be a spring. The plates 2, 3 may taper from their edges towards the sleeve member such that the ball receiving channel is larger toward the plate edges and smaller towards the sleeve.</p> |
