PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an exhaust gas purification catalyst capable of exhibiting sufficiently excellent exhaust gas purification performance even after exposed to a high temperature.SOLUTION: There is provided an exhaust gas purification catalyst which comprises a carrier and an active metal element supported on the carrier, wherein the carrier is composed of a nanosheet of a metal oxide containing niobium, the nanosheet contains 80 to 100% of the entire sheet in a range of a thickness of 1 to 200 nm and the active metal element is one selected from the group consisting of Pt, Rh, Cu, Ni, Co, Fe, Ir, Au, Ag and Mn. |
