A calculator using a 4-digit type is provided to enable a user of oriental countries to calculate and read numbers easily by marking a comma to an upper part of the number in a 4-digit type used in the oriental countries as well as marking the comma to a lower part of the number in a 3-digit type. A comma for representing ten thousands, one hundred million, one thousand billion is marked to the upper part of the number in the 4-digit type used in the oriental countries. The comma for representing one thousand, one million, and one billion is marked to the lower part of the number in the 3-digit type.
