SEPARATOR FOR SOLID OXIDE FUEL CELL

A separator for a solid oxide fuel cell is provided to improve oxidation resistance and conductivity by forming an oxide layer on the surface of a stainless steel at a high temperature under oxidative atmosphere. A separator for a solid oxide fuel cell comprises a ferrite-based stainless steel sheet; and any one which is selected from yttrium(Y), lanthanum(La), yttrium-manganese(Y-Mn) mixture and lanthanum-yttrium mixture and is coated on the surface of the ferrite-based stainless steel sheet. Preferably the coating has a thickness of 50-1,000 Angstrom. Preferably the yttrium-manganese mixture contains 90 wt% or less of manganese.
