A cabinet 90 for slidably housing a combination of drawers selected from a range of drawers of different predefined heights, a first drawer 150 in said range having a predefined maximum height and a second drawer 250 in said range having a predefined height less than said maximum height, the cabinet 90 having at least one drawer receiving cell 50 having an open front through which any drawer 150,250 selected from said range of drawers may be introduced into the cell 50 and through which drawers contained in the cell 50 may be slidingly moved between a retracted, drawer closed, position and an extended, drawer open, position, the cell having first guide means 52a, 52b co-operable with second guide means on each drawer when received in the cell 50 to support the drawer 150, 250 in the cell 50 and guide movement of the drawer between its open and closed positions, the first guide means and second guide means on a selected drawer being brought into engagement by insertion of the selected drawer through said open front of the cell 50 at or above a predetermined insertion height, the cell having at least two of said first guide means 52a, 52b spaced one above the other to define a high first guide means and a low first guide means, and blocking means 62 located within the cell for co-operation with each first drawer in order to prevent insertion of said first drawer into the cell at a position below said predetermined insertion height corresponding to the guide means. |
