PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a resolver signal processor capable of suppressing the power consumed in backup. SOLUTION: This processor comprises a backup circuit 2 which is connected to a resolver 120 and driven by receiving power supply from a backup power source 21 when power supply from a main power source 25 is interrupted. The backup circuit 2 has a pulse generating circuit 3 for supplying to coils 121A and 121B a pulse-like exciting signal of a predetermined period for exciting them. The pulse generating circuit 3 supplies, after supplying the pulse-like excitation signal, an auxiliary signal having a polarity opposite to the excitation signal and a pulse width smaller than that of the excitation signal to the coils 121A and 121B to which the excitation signal is supplied.
