NEW ORTHOARENE DIBORIDE COMPOUND AND METHOD FOR PRODUCING THE SAME

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for efficiently producing an industrially useful orthoarene diboride compound, and to provide such a new orthoarene diboride compound.

SOLUTION: The method for efficiently producing the industrially useful orthoarene diboride compound comprises conducting a reaction between a predetermined aromatic compound and a diboron compound having a boron-boron bond in the presence of a nucleophilic reagent and a platinum catalyst. The new orthoarene diboride compound thus obtained is provided.
