There is a system for RFID tag-based vehicle locating and sequencing at a site comprising a first vehicle or movable asset, having at least one tag, and a plurality of other vehicles in the site having tags and reference tags located within the site, whereby the communication between the first vehicle and other ATs and RTs allow locating (in one of a parking spot, a virtual parking spot or a boundary) and sequencing of the first asset.

A method for tag-based locating of moveable assets, at a site having one or more pre-existing moveable assets therein, each having one or more pre-existing moveable asset tags (pAT), the site further having one or more reference tags (RT), and the moveable assets having an asset tag (AT) thereon, the system comprising:
receiving, by the AT, a signal set comprising a signal from each pAT and RT at the site within a communicable range of the AT; consolidating, by the AT, the signal data set into a consolidated signal data set by applying one or more consolidation rules to the signal set; communicating, by the AT, the consolidated signal set to a location management system; obtaining a set of potential parks for the AT; applying one or more local analyses to the set of potential parks for the AT; and specifying a current parking result for the AT based on the applying.
