The method punches the plaes in a way of reducing loss of steel sheet. A steel sheet (1) is passed between guide rollers (2)(2') and feed rollers (3)(3') being rotate intermittently and is cut to connection-ring plates (6) by a cutter (5) of a puncher (4). The ring plates (6) are continually cut in a way of having the center-projecting portion (6") of a plate between side- projecting portions (6'")(6"") of the next plate to continus. The projections are rolled into rings for the respective free ends to be spot welded to the main body.
