<p>A television receiver includes a TS decoder, an editing section, a reception intensity detecting section, a judging section, and a service list storage section. The TS decoder separates electronic program guide data, service list data, and so forth from a transport stream. The reception intensity detecting section detects the reception intensity of a physical channel being selected and determines a receivable hierarchy. The judging section judges whether each service in the service list is receivable according to the judgment result obtained by the reception intensity detecting section and stores the ID numbers of the services judged to be receivable in the service list storage section. The editing section generates electronic program guide data only for the receivable services on the basis of the electronic program guide data separated by the TS decoder and the ID numbers stored in the service list storage section.</p> |
