PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an organic EL device emitting light through a substrate and suppressing voltage drop in a pixel. SOLUTION: This organic EL device is provided with a translucent substrate 10, and an organic EL element 12 formed on the substrate 10. The organic EL element 12 has a translucent pixel electrode 16, a counter electrode 20 facing the pixel electrode 16, and a light emitting functional layer 18 arranged therebetween, a linear conductor 15 contacts partially with the pixel electrode 16, in an area within the organic EL element 12, and the linear conductor 15 is formed of a material having a resistivity lower than that of the pixel electrode 16. The voltage drop in the pixel i.e. the organic EL element 12 is suppressed because the conductor 15 contacts with the pixel electrode 16, in the area within the organic EL element 12 i.e. the pixel.
