Use of myxoma virus for the therapeutic treatment of cancer and chronic viral infection

Provided is a method for inhibiting a mammalian cancer cell that has a deficient innate anti-viral response comprising administering to the cell an effective amount of Myxoma virus, with the proviso that the cell is not an in vivo human cell. Also provided is the use of Myxoma virus in the manufacture of a medicament and pharmaceutical compositions comprising Myxoma virus.
