[Class 53.] A cylindrical negative electrode N surrounds a positive electrode consisting of a number of plates C of decreasing width as shown in plan in Fig. 5. The outer electrode may be of notched shape as shown and the centre plates of the positive electrode may be inclined as shown in Fig. 4 to assist circulation of the electrolyte. The plates are joined at the top and bottom by rings B. The cell is closed by a double lid D having a projection R for indicating the correct position of the cell in an outer casing carrying a lamp. |
