PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a lipolysis promoter and a preparation for external use for skin containing the promoter, capable of promoting the degradation of accumulated adipose tissue in vivo and of adequately inhibit, prevent and remedy obesity. SOLUTION: This lipolysis promoter and the other objective preparation for external use for skin each contains banana skin or an extract derived therefrom; wherein the banana skin is usable either directly, after dried, or after solvent extraction, pref. being in the form of extract; in this case, an extraction solvent to be used is e.g. water, a lower alcohol such as ethanol, propanol or butanol, a polyol such as propylene glycol, 1,3-butylene glycol or glycerol, or a mixture thereof; among them, water singly, or ethanol or a mixture of water and 1,3-butylene glycol is more preferable, and a mixture of ethanol or 1,3-butylene glycol and water in the vol. ratio of (1:1) to (99:1) is especially preferable. |
