PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a rubber composition which generates an alcohol only in a small amount and is excellent in workability, dimensional stability, and safety; and a tire which is prepared therefrom and is excellent in productivity and uniformity. SOLUTION: This rubber composition is prepared by compounding a rubber component containing at least one diene rubber with an inorganic filler in an amount of 10-130 wt.% of the rubber component, a silane coupling agent in an amount of 1-20 wt.% of the inorganic filler, and a compound (A) in an amount of 0.2-10 wt.% of the rubber component. The inorganic filler contains silicic acid. At least 25 wt.% of the silane coupling agent is a condensed polymer. The compound (A) has at least one hydrophilic group and at least one hydrophobic group.
