PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a sheet loading device capable of reducing paper feeding failure, and capable of further accurately detecting a sheet residual quantity. SOLUTION: This sheet loading device has a tray for loading a sheet, a driving means for moving the tray between a paper feeding position and a replenishing position, a measuring means for measuring its moving distance when moving the tray to the paper feeding position after replenishing the sheet in the replenishing position, an input means for inputting weight of the sheet, and a calculating means for calculating a sheet quantity loaded on the tray on the basis of the measured moving distance of the tray and the inputted weight of the sheet.
