PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electric parking brake capable of completing an operation in a shorter time compared to conventional ones.SOLUTION: An electric parking brake 1 which pulls a parking cable 3 by driving an electric actuator 2 upon car stopping and operates a parking brake body 4 includes: a G sensor which detects the deceleration degree of a vehicle; and a controlling device 5 which estimates the gradient of a road surface based on the output value of the G sensor 7, calculates a target load for pulling the parking cable 3 meeting the estimation value of the gradient and control the electric actuator 2, wherein the controlling device 5 is configured such that a first bottom value is subtracted from the first peak value of the G sensor 7 after a car speed becomes zero, a product obtained by multiplying an appropriate constant to a difference obtained by subtracting the first bottom value from the first peak value of the G sensor 7 is subtracted from the peak value and the resultant value is used as the estimated value of an output value of the G sensor 7 which is used for estimation of the gradient of the road surface. |
