Covering (I) with difficultly flammable rating (DIN 4102) B1 comprises (A) top layer (14) comprising textile flat material of high temp. resistant, practically noncombustible, glass and/or aramide and/or semi-polyimide fibres (B) rear layer (10) of flexible, closed cell foam (C) between (A) and (B), an intermediary layer (12) of open celled, difficultly flammable foam based on polyurethane, modified polyurethane, and/or polycarbodi-imide, which becomes at least partly carbonised under action of flames (D) and (E), adhesive layers (11,13) based on heat-sealable, heat-activatable adhesives which firmly bond, respectively, (C) to (B) and (C) to (A). USE/ADVANTAGE - Wall cladding in public places such as sports hall, hospitals, lift cabins, aeroplanes, buses. (I) has required difficultly flammable properties.
