Heating and ventilation system for vehicle

The air duct system inside the vehicle is extended to the rear seats to provide separate temperature control for each of the rear seats. The rear ducts have outlets at foot level (34), at mid-height (30) and at a higher position (26) near to the doors. Each seat has an individual temperature control. The rear seat distribution system supplements the front seat distribution system and the whole system is shut down temporarily when the main control is set for windscreen defrosting. The front-mounted heat exchanger is fitted with an array of airflow control flaps to provide the selected temperature for each main duct leading to individual seats.
