<p>An air conditioner and a control method thereof are provided to sense temperature required for the operation of the air conditioner precisely to control the same without using any additional formulae or external A/D converters for converting voltage to temperature but by controlling a motor driving part from the temperature read from the data exchanged between indoor and outdoor units. An air conditioner includes outdoor and indoor units(13,14) connected to each other, a input part(15), a motor driving part(10), and a control part(16) controlling the motor driving part based on the result of comparison between target temperature set by a user and temperature calculated by the indoor and outdoor units, wherein the control part drives a motor to change a variable resistor according to the comparison result. The indoor and outdoor units calculate temperature from voltage levels generated by the driving of the motor driving part by using preset formulae.</p> |
