<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a lighting device for liquid crystal display device, of which brightness at a light-emitting surface of a light guide plate is not lowered, and unevenness of light is not generated on the light-emitting surface. <P>SOLUTION: The lighting device for a liquid crystal display device comprises a light guide plate 4b arranged so as to face a liquid crystal display panel 1, light-emitting elements 4d mounted on a wiring board 2 arranged so as to face a light-incident end 4c of the light guide plate 4b, and a frame 3 arranged so as to cover a side surface of the light guide plate 4b.
